Thursday marked the end of this years Young Social Innovators (YSI) programme involving the Ignyte programme based in the Mill Enterprise Hub. At the ceremony the pilot version of the Drogheda Wheelchair Accessibility App was revealed.
Built by Nebula Interactive on behalf of this years Ignyte group (with their input and that of the Irish Wheelchair Association) the app focused on providing fast and efficient access to information on businesses in the area that are wheelchair accessible and grades the premises so that wheelchair users can know at the push of a button what businesses can be accessed and to what degree.
John Maher of Nebula was presented with a certificate on the night for his extensive work on the app which was carried out as part of Nebula’s ongoing commitment to its CSR program.
A full version of the app is now being considered and specified with a view to launching it on a national scale.
