The past number of weeks we have been designing and developing quite a few websites for clients.
Carlow Coffee Co
This Coffee House site is a landing page to display the business’ opening hours, location and links to their social media. To keep in with the theme of their shop (they are notoriously known for writing a daily joke on a chalkboard outside), we kept the style of the site quite similar.
Paul Osborne Architect – Prototypes
After Carlow Coffee Co, we had the opportunity to work on creating a new portfolio site for architect, Paul Osborne. As one of my childhood dreams was to become a drafts(wo)man (and many hours building lots on The Sims), I really enjoyed working on this site. The contemporary builds Osborne has worked on inspired me to experiment with clean designs and a grey palette. Hints of duck-egg blue do make an appearance on the site however to reflect his logo.
This website requires a portfolio for the architect, images being the medium to display his work. The architect also wanted to start blogging his work, so keeping this in mind, it was best to develop the blog through wordpress. Another request was the ability to update images and project easily by himself. We went ahead and designed a couple of examples in Photoshop, some more blog focused, some more information and images.
Paul Osborne Architect – Final Version
The client gave feedback, and was impressed most with the 4th prototype. This design allows for the homepage to preview a little bit of everything on the site – especially with so much content! The user doesn’t have to navigate through every page to understand exactly what the architect can offer.
As the client wanted to update the site by himself, we organised the menu so that post categories would display in the projects menu. The architect can create a new post, add it to a specific category, and will show up in the projects menu.
